When you go over the limit, the API returns
429 Too Many Requests. Wait briefly and retry; see Errors for a retry example.
Tips
- Spread requests out instead of sending bursts. A steady 15 requests per second is safer than 30 requests every 2 seconds.
- Use one key per account. Limits are per key; running many processes on one key shares the same limit.
- Need real-time tweets? Polling advanced search with a time window works well and gives you full logs. Tweet filter rules (webhook / WebSocket) are also available.
